A Rabbit's Meadow Adventure

Hello. I am a European Rabbit. My fur is soft and brown, and I have a small nose that twitches frequently, especially when alert or exploring. My very long ears are special because they help me hear everything in my meadow home, from the birds singing to the wind whispering. I don’t live all by myself. I have a very big family. We all live together deep underground in a cozy and safe home called a warren.

My favorite things to do are hopping and nibbling. I love to eat yummy green grass and sweet clover for my dinner. My teeth are always growing, so I have to chew a lot to keep them just right. When I am not eating, I love to play games with all my brothers and sisters in the warm sunshine. My back legs are very strong. If we hear a scary sound, my strong legs help me hop and run super fast to get back to my safe warren.

I have a very important job in the meadow. When I eat the grass, I am like a little gardener. I keep the grass nice and short, which gives beautiful flowers lots of room to grow. My digging can destabilize soil, increase erosion, and disrupt nutrient cycles, leading to soil degradation. I am so happy to be a busy rabbit, helping to take care of my wonderful meadow home.
