Whale Shark

Hello. I am a whale shark, and I am the biggest fish in the entire ocean. I am as long as a school bus, but I am a very gentle and friendly giant. I love to swim peacefully all day long in the big blue sea, gliding through the water happily.

My skin is very beautiful. It is gray and covered in white spots and stripes that look just like a starry night sky. I will tell you a funny secret. Even though I am huge, my favorite food is super tiny. I love to eat tiny little plants and animals called plankton. To eat my favorite snack, I swim with my mouth wide open. It works like a giant scoop, gathering up all the plankton from the water as I go.

My home is in the warm, sunny parts of the ocean. I am a great traveler, and I love to go on long journeys across the sea to visit new places. I am so happy to be a special swimmer in the ocean. I help keep our amazing underwater world wonderful and balanced for all the other sea creatures. It feels good to help care for our big ocean home.
