Sherlock Holmes

Hello there. My name is Sherlock Holmes. Do you know what I am? I am a detective. That is a special name for someone who loves to solve puzzles and mysteries. I wear a special hat called a deerstalker. I also carry a big magnifying glass. My glass helps me see tiny clues that other people might not see.

I don’t solve puzzles all by myself. I have a very good friend named Dr. Watson. He is kind and he is brave. He helps me on all of my adventures. We live together in a cozy home in a big city called London. Our home is at 221B Baker Street. When someone has a problem they cannot solve, they come to our door. Dr. Watson and I get ready to help them.

My favorite thing to do is help people. I use my eyes to look very, very closely at everything. I listen with my ears and think with my brain to put all the clues together. The clues are just like pieces of a puzzle. It makes me so happy when I can solve a mystery and make someone smile. Remember, if you look closely and think hard, you can be a great puzzle-solver, too.
